This Privacy Policy describes the collection, use and disclosure of personal data you give to eConstructionCareers when you access or use eConstructionCareers’s online and/or mobile services and websites on or in connection with such services or websites (collectively, the “Website”). The information we collect and how we use it

Jobseeker Profile

When you create an eConstructionCareers Jobseeker account, we collect the following information:

  • Email Address
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Password
  • IP Address - used for security purposes

You can then optionally provide the following information:

  • Phone Number
  • Profile Photo
  • Location – we geocode this location to a Longitude/Latitude in order to facilitate distance based search on the Profile Database search
  • Longitude/Latitude – geocoded from Location value
  • Resume/CV (PDF/Word/Text)
  • Social Media Links (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter)
  • Employment history
  • Educational history
  • Certifications or Professional Licenses
  • Skills
  • Nationality

We use this information to provide our services and features to you, to measure and improve those services and features, and to provide you with customer support.

When is this information shared?

When you apply to a job advertisement (“Job Posting”), your email address, name, resume/CV and cover letter are sent to the Recruiter who listed that Job Posting. If you choose to make your profile ‘visible’, your Profile Data (excluding email address and IP address) will be available to Recruiters who have the appropriate permissions to view our CV database.

Apply via URL (i.e. external click)

In the case where the Job Posting is setup as an Apply via URL (i.e., where you are taken to an external website to complete the application), the following information is collected when you click on the “Apply to this Job” button:

  • IP Address
  • City, State, Zip Code
  • Longitude, Latitude
  • User Agent - device and browser e.g. iPhone, Windows, Firefox
  • Referring Website or Search Engine
  • Source

Job Alert Subscribers

When you sign up for job alert emails, we collect the following information:

  • Email address
  • Search preferences/search query – e.g. “sales jobs” in “New York, NY”

Recruiters

When you register for an employer account on eConstructionCareers, we collect the following information:

  • Email Address
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Phone Number
  • Company Name
  • Password
  • IP Address – used for security purposes

You can then optionally provide the following information:

  • Company Description
  • Logo
  • Additional Media (Image, Videos)
  • Company Location (Street Address/City/State)
  • Longitude/Latitude – geocoded from Location value

We use this information to provide our services and features to you, to measure and improve those services and features, and to provide you with customer support. If you consented to do so when you registered an account with eConstructionCareers, your personal information may be used by us and other businesses carefully selected by us to contact you by email to offer you content, advertisements, products and services that we believe may be of interest to you. If you no longer want to receive marketing materials from us or our select partners, you can opt out of receiving such marketing related messages by following the ‘unsubscribe’ link included in each email. Please note that we may still send other messages to you, such as administrative messages.

In addition, we use “cookies” (small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive) to gather and aggregate information and statistics for the purpose of monitoring Website usage in order to help us develop the Website and our services. We may provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual.

Protecting your information

eConstructionCareers seeks to use reasonable security measures to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the personal Information under our control. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its security. We may also use third-party service providers that provide hosting, data storage and other services, who have informed us or the general public that they apply security measures they consider adequate for the protection of information within their system. However, we will not be liable (to the fullest extent permitted by law) for any damages that may result from the misuse of any information, including personal information, by these companies.

Sale of business

If this business is sold or integrated with another business your details may be disclosed to our advisors and any prospective purchasers and their advisors and will be passed on to the new owners of the business.

The right to rectify or delete your data

If any of the information that you have provided to eConstructionCareers changes, for example if you change your email address, name or contact details, please update your information in your dashboard, or let us know the correct details by contacting us. If you wish to permanently delete your data, you can do so by sending a request to support(at)econstructioncareers.com. Once your request has been confirmed, we will initiate the necessary steps to execute this exercise, including deleting your eConstructionCareers account.

Opting out

If you no longer want to receive marketing materials from us or our select partners, you can opt out of receiving such marketing related messages by following the ‘unsubscribe’ link included in each email. Please note that we may still send other messages to you, such as administrative messages.

By submitting your information you consent to the use of that information as set out in this Privacy Policy. If we change our Privacy Policy we will post the changes on this page, and may place notices on other pages of the Website, so that you may be aware of the information we collect and how we use it at all times. Continued use of the service will signify that you agree to any such changes.

You acknowledge and consent that if you set your Jobseeker profile to ‘visible’, or apply for a job using your CV, you are making the personal information that you provided in your profile or placed on your CV and registration form available to third parties (and who may forward your CV and personal information to other third parties). This means that third parties can view the personal information contained in your CV and you may receive unsolicited contact from parties unaffiliated with eConstructionCareers and for whom eConstructionCareers has no responsibility. If you do not want your CV or personal information made accessible by, or passed to, third parties, you should not upload it. You can ‘hide’ your eConstructionCareers profile to stop it showing in the eConstructionCareers CV database. You can remove your CV and personal information at any time by deleting your eConstructionCareers account.

Owing to the global nature of the internet infrastructure, the information you provide may be transferred in transit to countries outside the European Economic Area that do not have similar protections in place regarding your data and its use as set out in this policy. However, we have taken the steps outlined above to try to improve the security of your information. By submitting your information you consent to these transfers.

Access to your records

You have a right to be told what personal information we hold about you. If you wish to see a copy of the information we hold about you please contact us. We reserve the right to charge a small administrative fee to fulfil this request.
